accomodation

Awa Retreat occupies the ground floor of a mid-century modern home designed by celebrated Hamilton architect Bernie Gleeson and is part of a small, elite residential cluster of crafted homes themed for riverside living. Mid-century modern architecture changed the way New Zealanders lived, enticing them out of Victorian villas and cottages and into a sleek, open-plan living spaces oriented to the sun. Awa Retreat pays homage to its mid-century origins.

Respectfully remodelled in late 2014, Awa Retreat offers private, peaceful and modern bed & breakfast apartment style accommodation ideal for travellers and business people alike. Quality fittings, simple elegance and warm Waikato hospitality are synonymous with every stay at Awa Retreat.
